What Is CoolTone?
CoolTone is a non-invasive treatment that uses Magnetic Muscle Stimulation (MMS) to penetrate through the skin and fat layers to target the muscle layer. It is a separate treatment from CoolSculpting Elite, which targets fat through controlled cooling.
The MMS technology induces powerful involuntary muscle contractions — far more than you could achieve through voluntary exercise. Your body responds by strengthening and remodeling the muscle fibers.
CoolTone is FDA-cleared for strengthening, toning, and firming of the abdomen, buttocks, and thighs. It is not a fat-reduction treatment — for fat reduction, see our CoolSculpting Elite program.

How Does CoolTone Work?
During a CoolTone session, a paddle applicator is placed over the treatment area. The device emits a magnetic field that passes through the skin and fat layers to reach the underlying muscle tissue.
The magnetic field induces supramaximal contractions — contractions so powerful they cannot be achieved through voluntary exercise. A single 30-minute session can produce thousands of muscle contractions.
Your body responds to these intense contractions by strengthening existing muscle fibers and building new muscle protein strands. Over a series of treatments, this results in stronger, firmer, and more toned muscles.
Sessions are typically 30 minutes per treatment area. Your provider will recommend the number and spacing of appointments based on the selected areas, your assessment, and the applicable treatment guidance.

What to Expect After Treatment
CoolTone uses magnetic muscle stimulation to strengthen, tone, and firm muscles in the abdomen, buttocks, and thighs. It is not a fat-reduction or weight-loss treatment.

CoolTone Downtime & Recovery
Many clients can resume ordinary activities after treatment, but responses vary. Your provider will give you aftercare instructions specific to your treatment.
Temporary muscle soreness or pain, muscle spasms, joint or tendon discomfort, and redness can occur. Follow your provider's aftercare instructions and contact the practice about unexpected, severe, or persistent symptoms.
