Dullness, dry patches and congested pores can make skin look tired even when you follow a regular skincare routine. DiamondGlow offers professional exfoliation, extraction and serum infusion in one treatment, helping refresh the appearance and feel of your skin with minimal downtime. At Elite Laser Center & Med Spa in Stony Brook, NY, we customize DiamondGlow to your skin concerns and discuss what you can realistically expect before treatment. Here is what to know about the appointment, results, aftercare and membership options.
##What Is a DiamondGlow Facial? DiamondGlow is a noninvasive dermabrasion treatment. Its diamond-tipped handpiece removes dead surface skin cells, uses suction to extract debris, and delivers selected SkinMedica Pro-Infusion Serums onto freshly exfoliated skin. These functions work together during treatment.
The diamond tip and serum are selected for your skin. Hydrating, brightening and pore-focused options offer different cosmetic benefits; your provider chooses from the serums available at Elite after assessing your concerns and sensitivity.
##What Results Can You Expect? After a treatment, you may notice softer texture, a more hydrated appearance and a brighter-looking complexion. Some improvements can be visible immediately, while uneven tone and other ongoing concerns may require a series and supportive home care. Results vary.
Manufacturer before-and-after images often show outcomes from multiple appointments combined with a SkinMedica skincare regimen. They should not be read as a promise that one facial will produce the same change.
DiamondGlow is a cosmetic skin treatment. It does not permanently shrink pores, remove deep acne scars or provide a lifting result. If your main concern is deeper scarring, pronounced wrinkles or loose skin, our team can discuss other services and whether they belong in your plan.
What Happens During Your Appointment?
Your visit begins with a skin assessment and a conversation about your goals, current products and recent treatments. Your provider cleanses the area and selects the appropriate tip and serum before passing the handpiece over your skin.
You may feel suction and a scratchy or stinging sensation. Speak up if you feel uncomfortable so your provider can assess your skin and adjust or stop treatment.
At Elite, a DiamondGlow appointment generally takes approximately 30–45 minutes. Allow additional time if your visit includes a consultation or other services. Your provider will explain aftercare before you leave.
How Much Downtime Is There?
Many people resume everyday activities immediately, but minimal downtime does not mean there are no possible side effects. Temporary redness, tightness or slight swelling can occur. Rarely, severe irritation or an allergic reaction may occur; contact your provider about unexpected or persistent symptoms.
If you are planning treatment before a wedding, photographs or another important event, discuss the timing in advance. For a first appointment, leave room to learn how your skin responds.
Preparing for DiamondGlow and Caring for Your Skin
Tell your provider about medications, allergies, skincare products and recent aesthetic procedures. The manufacturer advises stopping retinoids and exfoliating products at least three days before treatment. If you use a prescribed topical medication, ask your prescribing clinician before changing it.
Afterward, follow your provider's instructions for gentle cleansing, moisturizing, makeup and restarting active products. Use broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher and protect your skin from sun exposure.
Is DiamondGlow Right for Your Skin?
DiamondGlow can be customized for different skin types, but a skin assessment is essential. Treatment should be postponed on compromised skin, including sunburned, irritated or broken skin, open wounds, active weeping acne or cold sores.
Let your provider know about eczema, rosacea, pregnancy, breastfeeding and any recent peel or laser treatment. These details help determine whether to proceed, wait or recommend a different service.
How Often Should You Get DiamondGlow?
The manufacturer notes that treatments may be scheduled every two weeks, or as your provider recommends. That is an option for an individualized series, not a requirement for everyone.
For maintenance, monthly appointments may fit your goals and routine. Your provider will recommend an interval based on your skin's response, the concerns you want to address and any other treatments you receive.
DiamondGlow vs. HydraFacial
Elite offers both HydraFacial and DiamondGlow. Both combine exfoliation, extraction and serum delivery, but their technologies differ: DiamondGlow uses a diamond tip for mechanical exfoliation and SkinMedica Pro-Infusion Serums, while HydraFacial uses its vortex-based delivery system and associated serums.
The right choice depends on your skin, preferences and goals. Our team can explain the options rather than assuming one treatment suits every client.
How Much Does DiamondGlow Cost at Elite?
DiamondGlow is available as a standalone service. Contact Elite for current single-treatment and package pricing.
Our Skincare Club costs $99 per month and includes one monthly HydraFacial. Members can replace that month's HydraFacial with DiamondGlow for an additional $120. That makes the membership charge plus the DiamondGlow upgrade $219 for that month, before any optional enhancements.
The upgrade replaces the included HydraFacial; it does not provide two separate treatments. Our team can review membership details and help you decide whether a standalone visit or ongoing membership fits your needs.
